Time to Clear Out
Our challenge in this new year is to clear out old thought patterns and unconscious behavior. This will allow space for our authentic self to emerge along with the expression of our unique voice.
We can capitalize now on preparing our energy to work with the dynamic opportunities ahead. This will help us pave the way into creating our future while also stabilizing it for any unexpected turbulence derailing us from our path.
Currently we are experiencing multiple challenges that are in competition for our attention and use of our energy. The rights of the individual vs government, oppression, racism, women’s rights: we are all fighting for the right of our voices being heard and our needs accepted with respect. These energetic tug-of-wars are centuries old, and their vibration is housed within each of us in the form of past lives and present life experiences.
These challenges force the individual investigate themselves. In 2018 we are being given the opportunity to consciously and thoughtfully identify our authentic values and voice and the opportunity to act in a manner that is of benefit to us as individuals and also as a positive force in society.
Shape Resistance Into Empowerment
There will be some major themes present throughout 2018. If we take these on from a position of empowerment, we will succeed despite any setbacks. If we process the challenges through fear, we will allow the dynamic nature of 2018 to intimidate us, ultimately frightening us away from knowing our true selves.
This moves us into the first theme of the year, resistance. The challenges currently at work are creating a turbulent push and pull within each of us. Our beliefs, morals, and values are being tested. To process them in a productive manner, each of us has to look within to our history and unresolved pain. Housed in this information is our truth, our ability to heal ourselves and work out past grief and stand in the present. However, the great distractor of finding our truth is the energy of resistance. When we are in partnership with resistance, we may procrastinate projects or self-care we know we should tend to; blame others as the cause of situations or deeds instead of going within to find our own answers; and act out in ways that harm ourselves or another, giving power to other destructive emotions. Into 2018 we each have an opportunity everyday to choose to look within for our healing. As we each consciously work to figure out what is triggering us to experience resistance, we are giving ourselves the opportunity to create the space for profound experiences of personal transformation.
As we move through and understand our triggers for experiencing resistance in a more conscious manner, we gain the opportunity to better utilize our energy towards empowerment, our second theme for the year. When we can operate from this energy, the individual feels fueled by their own decisions and ability to create their path in life. They experience peace and fulfillment and enjoy finding a way to be a positive force in society. As we find our own voice and ways to give to our self and our community, anger and any desire to oppress another neutralize. When we are empowered, we understand our part in community, act accordingly, and give of ourselves to others.
To manage this powerful shift from resistance to empowerment, we can employ the creation of intentions, our third theme of the year. They help us consciously lay the foundation for our path, allowing us to be uncomfortable and awkward with growth all while shifting with grace.
In Part 2 we will explore the next step of how to create and write a list of intentions that you will actually follow!
