My story, I was tired and I needed to hear myself again.
The past four years had been hectic. I had switched jobs three times, wiggled through four years of psychic school, made a big move to a new town, and managed myself through some pretty chaotic family situations.
My intuition was suggesting I prioritize time in nature while my ego was SCREAMING at me that that would be a very unproductive decision.
Break the routine with some fun.
The day time was for skiing, because sliding down the snow is just fun. In the evening I would go on "Night Adventures." Filling my trusty backpack with hot tea, headlamp, notebook, and current beloved book, I would go stomp around in the woods. I wasn't really looking for anything but I noticed how I would come home and feel revived, refreshed.
Summer had new ways to declutter my spirit's space. Mountain biking, hiking, swimming, volunteering for my favorite non-profit, and a new found excitement for a radio-controlled rock crawlers were priorities. I had a blast, and continued to feel renewed.
Our ability to rejuvenate.
Being outside and with others in these manners, I was giving myself the time and space to rejuvenate. I noticed I was less irritable and quick to frustration. I was more productive while working and more spontaneous. Overall, I was creating better communication with my own life priorities. I was feeling good, fulfilled, happy. I didn't need to buy anything big or make some huge change. I was just working at finding peace within myself.
Create space for possibility.
If we are always so focused on our to do list or worries or stressors, we are not allowing mindfulness in the moment. The issues we think are problems will sort normally just sort themselves out for us. Instead, spend that time more productively by having fun with friends, family or on a personal mission. We need to let our energy open up!
There is a greater timeline at work.
When we know we need to take time for rejuvenation, we are being asked to allow the experience of healing into our lives. This is part of a cyclical process of healing and creating. If we ignore one part of this cycle, we cannot properly take advantage of the other. That is when we feel stuck, worn out, and uninspired. So, we need to listen up! Take advantage of our time in rejuvenation, dig in and let go into the wonderful offering it brings!
